Mat practice
Mat practice at Calm Hawk Atelier means floor-based yoga without gadgets or mirrors on every wall. We teach adults who want strength, mobility, and calm — not competition. Classes run on cork mats spaced generously so you never feel crowded during sun salutations or seated folds.
Foundations
Foundations meets twice weekly for students newer to yoga or returning after a long pause. Teachers spend the first third on standing shapes — mountain, forward fold, low lunge — with explicit foot and knee guidance. The middle block introduces simple flows linked to breath count. We close with supine twists and a short savasana. Props are encouraged from day one: blocks under hands, blankets under knees.
Flow
Flow classes assume you know basic pose names and can move between them with moderate pace. Sequences rotate monthly so regulars stay engaged without chaotic novelty. Expect standing balances, hip openers, and occasional arm-balance prep that stays accessible. Teachers offer regressions loudly so nobody feels singled out.
Restorative blocks
Once per week we run a slower session with longer holds and bolsters. This is not sleep yoga — you stay awake, supported, and breathing. Ideal after travel weeks or heavy desk loads. We dim lights slightly but keep enough brightness for safe entry and exit.
What props are provided?
Blocks, straps, bolsters, and blankets. Please wipe blocks after use; we supply spray at the prop wall.
May I bring my own mat?
Yes. We also rent studio mats cleaned between classes for two euros per visit.
How long are classes?
Sixty minutes including arrival quiet time. Foundations may extend five minutes for Q&A.
