Calm Hawk Atelier

Breath lab

Breath work at Calm Hawk is taught as a companion to mat yoga, not a replacement for medical care. Our pranayama sessions explore safe ratios, nasal breathing, and gentle retention — always with exit options when dizziness or anxiety appears. Teachers are certified yoga instructors, not clinicians.

Weekly breath session

Thursday evenings we dim the chalkboard-green studio and sit in a circle for forty-five minutes of guided breathing. We begin with three-part breath review, move into ujjayi at a conversational pace, and finish with coherent breathing at five counts in and five out. Silence intervals lengthen gradually across the term so you learn to self-pace.

Workshop intensives

Quarterly half-day workshops combine seated breath, light movement, and journaling prompts. Topics rotate: breath for desk workers, breath before sleep, breath during seasonal transitions. Handouts summarise techniques you can practice at home without audio dependency.

Is breath work safe with asthma?

Consult your doctor first. We avoid forced retention and offer mouth-breathing alternatives when needed.

Do I need meditation experience?

No. We treat breath as a physical skill first. Sitting cushions and chairs are both available.
